RECENT TRIPS

On Saturday, December 14, 2002, we made our second trip to Tijuana. Our goal on this trip was to provide clothing, blankets, food and roof repairs to the families that we are helping. Duane Phares, Lance Lay, Elias Rodriguez and Brian Boek made the trip together. It was a very productive trip with many humbling and humorous moments.

At the Argumedo household we installed new roofing materials to protect against the winter rains. We were concerned about walking on the roof because it is in such poor shape. However, the roofing was able to be nailed down and the Argumedo's will be drier this winter. There were many smiles as we gave them food, clothing, blankets and worked on their home. On the next trip, we will repair some of their electrical wiring. It is extremely dangerous and can be easily repaired.

Rosa, Mario and Juan Lopez were thankful for the food and blankets that were given. Their roof also needs some repairs that will be taken care of during the next visit.

In August, there was a 6 year old little girl, Angela, who repeatedly asked for some clothes. She witnessed the Argumedo children receiving clothing and food. We were able to bring food, blankets and clothing to her house. Her 13 year old brother, Augustin, stood in the yard as we left and thanked us time after time.

In the United States, we are blessed with riches beyond the majority of the world's population. We praise God for blessing us and you with the ability to share. Our message to those receiving these gifts is simple-we want to share what God has freely and abundantly given us with those who struggle for their next meal, warm clothing and a dry house.

Thank you so much for your generosity. Without your support and encouragement, this ministry would not have happened. May God bless you.
